Making money with Hubpages isn’t hard – it is just a question of getting your basics right and being aware of the advantages and disadvantages that you’ll face.
Essentially, Hubpages is a platform that allows anyone and everyone to create a single page of content geared around a topic of their choice. This is the same model that they’ve used since they launched in 2006, and it has proven attractive to many.

Monetizing your hubs is actually the simple part to making money with Hubpages; and you really have a lot of options in that regard. By default, Google AdSense is enabled on these pages – and you’ll earn a share of the revenue off them. Similarly, you can also choose to enable contextual advertisements from Kontera, and even eBay and Amazon advertising capsules.
To claim your advertising revenue from these sources, you’ll need to apply for your own individual affiliate ID directly from these providers. Hubpages will then split the revenue 60:40, meaning that 60% of the time your affiliate ID will be used, and 40% of the time Hubpages’ own ID will be used.
But you could take that a step further and also add affiliate products or Cost Per Action (CPA) offers to the mix to earn yet more commissions.
Bear in mind – with these options you’ll be able to keep 100% of the revenue that you earn!
All said and done – the choice is entirely yours, but you should have no problems making money with Hubpages if you just focus on building high quality hubs and traffic and slowly but surely develop a greater understanding of the process!
Unfortunately, Hubpages does have disadvantages too.
Because the majority of the revenue you’ll be earning come from advertisements, you won’t be able to start making money with Hubpages all that quickly until you build up a steady stream of traffic. Also it isn’t going to make you a lot of money unless you consistently come up with new and high quality hubs – which can be a lot of work.
So comparatively, while Hubpages can be a great way to make money without requiring much extra knowledge – in the long run if you’re looking for something that scales upwards you might want to consider other options.
Still, if you’re looking to just get content up and earn some revenue from it – Hubpages could be ideal!
