How to Start a Money Making Blog – Part 6

In the last part of this series, we talked about brainstorming and the things you should think about before you actually put up content for your niche blog. In part 6, we will be talking about monetization.

Before you actually start putting up content on your blog and start promoting it, you need to think about your plan to make your blog successful and making you money.

You need to think about the content you want on the site (which I talked about in part 5 of this series) and how you will monetize your blog.

Figuring out how you will monetize your blog doesn’t take a lot of work.

All you need to do is take a look at your niche and determine which monetization options would be a good fit for your niche. Here are a few popular ways to monetize a niche blog.

Pay Per Click (Google Adsense)

You can apply for a Google Adsense account (free) and display advertisements on your blog. Anytime someone clicks on one of your ads, you will make some money. How much you make per click depends on your niche and a couple other factors.

There are other pay per click programs out there besides Google Adsense but I would recommend you start out with Adsense because in my opinion, its the best pay per click program.

Promoting CPA (Cost Per Action) Offers

Promoting CPA offers can be very profitable for you if you choose the right CPA networks and offers. Basically, with CPA, you get paid per action. This “action” could be a free trial sign up, site registration, email submit, download, quote request, and so on.

There are plenty of CPA offers available for many different nichesĀ  so you may end up finding a good offer related to your niche.

Promoting Physical Products (Amazon & Ebay)

If your niche focuses on specific physical products, you could join Amazon or Ebay affiliate program and promote products through them and earn commissions.

For example, if your blog was aboutĀ  CHI hair straighteners and you were reviewing the different types of CHI hair straighteners, you could find CHI hair straighteners on Amazon and link directly to that specific hair straightener for those interesting in buying one.

If they buy the hair straightener through your unique affiliate link, you will earn a commission from that purchase.

It works the same for any affiliate program you join that has physical type products although your commissions may be different depending on how the affiliate program works.

Promoting Digital Products or Ebooks (Clickbank)

Another monetization option that you have is digital products or ebooks. There are countless number of ebooks out there that you can promote in many different niches.

All you have to do is join a good affiliate network that has these ebooks and find an ebook that is suitable to your niche market. Grab your unique affiliate link or affiliate tools (banners, articles, etc) and promote the ebook on your blog.

I recommend Clickbank affiliate network if you want to promote digital products. They have a huge marketplace of ebook products to promote and it is very easy to get started with them.

So basically, all you really need to do is find a good affiliate program to join that has a product or offer related to your niche.

There are many affiliate networks out there that you can join for free and look for products and offers to promote as an affiliate – some which I mentioned above. You can check out this list of really good affiliate networks if you need a few more good places to check out.

If you have the knowledge, you could even go a step further and create your own product, offer, or service to promote on your blog to earn money. However, if you are new to all this, I would recommend you start off promoting other peoples products first.

As you can see, there are many ways to make money from a niche blog. Just think about your target niche and find a product or offer that gives them what they need or leads them to what they are looking for.
