Making Money with Amazon’s Mechanical Turk

Do you know how to make money with Amazon’s Mechanical Turk? Ever since it was launched, people have flocked to it to find ways to make money in their spare time – but many end up disappointed.

In simple terms, Amazon’s Mechanical Turk allows employers to ‘request’ certain jobs that workers can then browse and complete. The employer decides the fee, and then reviews the results and pays if it is accepted.

While the system itself is ever so easy, knowing how to make money with Amazon’s Mechanical Turk is slightly more complicated. Many of the jobs pay just a couple of cents, and so you could very well find yourself working for hours at end and making less than minimum wage in most countries!

But if you really want to make money with Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, here’s what you need to do:

* Estimate the work vs. payout ratio for jobs. Even jobs that only pay out a couple of cents are worthwhile if they take literally no time to complete, whereas some jobs that have higher payouts may not be worthwhile if they are extremely time consuming

* Complete some of the qualification tests that will allow you to access different jobs that may have higher payouts.

* Learn to write decent articles quickly. A lot of the moderate payout jobs involve writing 300 to 500 word articles, and if you can churn these out in a couple of minutes then you should be able to make a nice hourly rate.

All in all, Amazon’s Mechanical Turk may not be the easiest way to earn a steady and decent income online – but it is certainly an easy way to locate jobs.

Chances are, if you’re looking for a permanent regular income you’re not going to want to rely on it exclusively – but it could help supplement other income streams and fill any free time you have with productive work.

  1. Hey Meka, really nice post! I currently use Amazon Mechanical Turk. It’s one of my favorite ways to make money online. The assignments on there are pretty interesting, though some are pretty complicated. What caught my attention is the article writing. I never done those assignments, but I think I’ll try it to increase my income.

By the way, really nice blog. It’s very informative. Keep up the good work! =)
